Purpose of this Site

This site exists so that members of the various groups in the Hardness Assurance Committee and other interested engineers and scientists can get information on the activities of the SPWG-HAC through previous meeting minutes and other information, which will be discussed at future meetings.

Our Objectives and Activities

Our meetings comprise about 30 engineers who are concerned with hardness assurance issues. We meet three times a year alongside the EIA JEDEC JC-13 (Government Liaison), G-12 (OEMs), ASTM F1.11 (Nuclear and Space Radiation Effects), and the Defense Semiconductor Association meetings. There is considerable interaction among all the groups, facilitating the goals of each. Among the goals and activities of the SPWG/HAC are:

• Provide a forum for the exchange of information about piece-part and system hardness assurance approaches. The small group forum allows for considerable interaction.
• Review current work on HA through invited speakers.
• Serve as a venue for identifying needed or outdated specifications or test/measurement/dosimetry standards for this field. Pull together a team to attack each particular issue. Review the progress at the SPWG/HAC meetings.
• Coordinate our work with the JEDEC community and assist them in developing any radiation-related documents that they need.
